BANGOR MAN JAILED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AGAINST PARTNER
A man responsible for attacking his partner on two separate occasions has received a prison sentence.Jacob Taylor, aged 35, was involved in two incidents of violence against Stacey Jones, including a slap on the shoulder following an argument about food, and later, kicking and punching her while she was in the street.
The court heard that in one case, his aggression was triggered after he returned from work and found she had not prepared food for the family, which made her feel as if her skin was bubbling.
Taylor, who has Asperger's syndrome and ADHD, admitted to causing actual bodily harm to Ms Jones.
Yesterday, at Caernarfon Crown Court, he was sentenced to eight months in prison.
The prosecutor explained that Taylor and Ms Jones had been together for a decade.
Evidence presented during the trial showed that the violence included him slapping her with enough force to make her feel her skin bubbling, and he later kissed her and said he did not intend to hit her so hard.
Additional incidents involved a disagreement in May, during which Taylor pushed Ms Jones onto the ground after she visited a nightclub in Bangor against his wishes.
The court was shown doorbell camera footage of this confrontation and the ensuing violence.
Two days following this incident, Taylor was detained by police.
The court highlighted that he presents a considerable risk of future assault, leading to a sentence of 18 months for the actual bodily harm, along with a ten-year restraining order to keep him from approaching Ms Jones.
The judge, His Honour Timothy Petts, stated that Taylor’s violence and its effects on a understandably terrified Ms Jones justifies strict punishment.
