RAPE CASE JURY TOLD OF ORDEAL
A 42-year-old man, Peter Edwards, of Pennine Court, Doxford Park, Sunderland, denies rape after being accused of attacking a woman in her flat on February 23 last year.The woman recounted how she thought she would be killed when Edwards assaulted her after inviting him into her home.
The assault lasted about 15 minutes before Edwards left and said he would return.
The woman described feeling "filthy" and crying, washing herself with bleach afterwards and contacting police.
Edwards claimed he had not raped her and suggested she might have gotten someone else to bruise her arms.
The trial is ongoing.
