AUCHINLECK MAN CHARGED WITH ONLINE INDECENCY TOWARDS CHILD
AN AUCHINLECK man has been charged with sending indecent sexual communications to a 'child over 13'.Paul O'Connor appeared from custody today (Monday, June 2) after his arrest in Lambfair Gardens at the weekend.
He was reportedly involved in a sting involving an online child protection volunteer group.
The 48-year-old entered no plea to allegedly causing an older child to look at a sexual image and communicating indecently with an older child during the petition hearing held in private at Ayr Sheriff Court.
He was committed for further examination and released on bail.
O'Connor will face the allegation again at a later date, with his next appearance to be confirmed.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 48-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with indecent online communications.
Officers were called to Lambfair Gardens in Auchinleck at around 2.15pm on Sunday, June 1, 2025.
The man was due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday, June 2, 2025."
