AUCHINLECK SEX OFFENDER SENT EXPLICIT TEXTS TO 'GIRL AGE 12'
A SEX offender who sent vile messages and an image of his privates to what he believed to be a 12-year-old girl pleaded guilty after warning her, 'be careful - nice people end up asking for dirty pics’.Gordon Scott admitted attempting to communicate indecently with a child under 13 and sending a sexual image when he appeared from custody at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday, March 16.
The 54-year-old admitted committing the offence ‘intentionally and for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification or of humiliating, distressing or alarming a person you believed to be a child age 12’, “who was in fact an adult”, in August last year at his address in Arran Drive, Auchinleck.
Scott sent a series of written sexual messages on social media “that were of an indecent and sexual nature”.
He admitted asking for indecent images and “discussed engaging in sexual intercourse with her”.
He faced a second charge of attempting to cause her to look at a sexual image by sending a picture of his privates and attempting to cause a child to look at a sexual image.
Both offences took place while he was out on bail, granted on July 16, 2024, at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.
Scott appeared from custody when he pleaded guilty ahead of trial this week.
The court heard he was later tracked down and arrested by police.
The Crown planned to seek a sexual harm prevention order.
He is also subject to the notification requirements under the Sexual Offences Act and will return to court next month for reports and further consideration.
