AUCHINLECK DOMESTIC ASSAULT OFFENDER HAS TAG REMOVED TO COMPLETE CONTRACT WORK
A MAN who assaulted his partner in Auchinleck has had a temporary tagging order revoked to complete contract work ahead of sentencing.Bearded Christopher George Boyd, aged 38, who appeared in the dock with a '21' tattoo on his face, was granted an application to amend his bail conditions during a hearing at Ayr Sheriff Court.
The court noted that Boyd is currently awaiting sentencing for assaulting a partner or ex-partner after seizing her by the hair on December 23, 2024.
The assault occurred at his address in Ballochmyle Avenue, where he then pulled her to the ground and struck her on the head, causing injury.
The offence was classified as domestically aggravated.
His defence solicitor, Robert Campbell, wished to suspend the electronic tagging to allow Boyd to complete contracting work outside his address.
Sheriff Shirley Foran allowed the request, stating: 'In the particular circumstances, I will allow the request to revoke the electronic monitoring.' Boyd will face sentencing at a later date, with bail continuing while the case proceeds.
