AUCHINLECK MAN FACES SERIOUS ASSAULT CHARGES AFTER ALLEGED STAIR PUSH
A man allegedly pushed two women down a flight of stairs in Auchinleck.Derek Nisbett faces two serious assault charges after the incident at his home address in Old Avenue on July 28 last year.
It is claimed that he assaulted one woman by pushing her on the body, causing her to fall down a flight of stairs resulting in severe injury.
The Crown's indictment alleges that the incident was aggravated by involving abuse toward a partner or ex-partner.
He is also charged with assaulting a second woman by allegedly pushing her down the stairs, leading to her injury.
When he appeared from custody in Ayr Sheriff Court last week, his defense solicitor Robert Logan stated that his client pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Nisbett was returned to custody and will face trial at a later date.
