HUDDERSFIELD MAN ARRESTED AFTER RED ROSE UK STING ON 17/11/2025
A Huddersfield man, Paul Murray (DOB 02/10/1980), was arrested on 17 November 2025 following a sting operation conducted by the safeguarding group Red Rose UK.According to Red Rose UK, their investigation began after they encountered an online profile using the false identity “Terri Rowan.” The group allege that this persona was used to approach individuals he believed to be children and initiate inappropriate conversations.
Red Rose UK report that after the conversation was moved from the initial platform to WhatsApp, the individual behind the account disclosed that his real name was Paul, not Terri, confirming to the decoys who they were speaking with.
The group further allege that throughout the exchanges, he consistently asked inappropriate questions and pushed for sexual communication, prompting immediate safeguarding concerns.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police attended the sting location and arrested Mr Murray on suspicion of: • Attempting to communicate sexually with a child (x5) • Attempting to entice a child into sexual communication He has been remanded in custody by police while enquiries continue.
At this stage, Mr Murray has not yet appeared in court, and the allegations will be addressed through formal criminal proceedings.
Police investigations are ongoing.
