PATRICK GALLAGHER FROM MANSFIELD SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR CHILD SEX ABUSE IN NOTTINGHAM
In a harrowing case that has shocked the community of Mansfield and the wider Nottinghamshire area, Patrick Gallagher, a 60-year-old former foster carer, has been sentenced to life imprisonment after admitting to a series of heinous sexual offenses committed against vulnerable boys over a span of more than a decade.
Gallagher appeared before Nottingham Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to a total of 55 charges, including rape, indecent assault, and engaging in sexual activities with minors.
The crimes took place between 1998 and 2010, during which time Gallagher exploited his position of trust as a foster parent, a swimming coach, and a volunteer at a youth club to prey on young boys.
The court heard that Gallagher’s actions had caused immeasurable damage to his victims, with the judge, Mr.
Justice Michael Stokes QC, condemning his conduct in the strongest terms.
