MAN WHO CHOKED AND ATTACKED WOMAN JAILED
The 57-year-old Nigel Jackson subjected a woman to months of abuse and intimidation.Between February and October 2025, he limited her movements, seized her finances, and took away her mobile phone.
He also used physical force, including restricting her breathing until she lost consciousness, and in August 2025, he attacked her with a knife, leaving her with serious defensive wounds on her hands.
After the knife incident, Jackson was arrested and denied the charges vociferously.
During two police interviews in October, he responded with 'no comment.' At Nottingham Crown Court in April, he was convicted of deliberate strangulation, coercive control, and assault causing actual bodily harm, but found not guilty on two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault.
On 7 May, Jackson appeared before the court and was sentenced to six years in prison.
A restraining order was also imposed, forbidding any contact with the woman in the future.
