SERIAL SEX OFFENDER TRAVELLED HUNDREDS OF MILES GROOMING, ENTRAPPING AND ABUSING SEVERAL SCHOOLGIRLS, POSING AS A BOY
A serial sex offender who travelled hundreds of miles to target two schoolgirls he groomed online has been jailed.Nicholas Jackson, 51, met one victim on Snapchat and another on TikTok, before convincing them to meet him in person and subjecting them to harrowing ordeals.
Newcastle Crown Court heard that Jackson, of Oldgate, Huddersfield, was already on bail for offences against the first girl, from the Hexham area of Northumberland, when he targeted the second victim in Kendal, Cumbria.
Both children initially believed they were speaking with a teenage boy.
Judge Carolyn Scott described Jackson as a “prolific sexual offender” and ruled that he poses a “very high risk to children.” The court heard how Jackson pressured the first girl to send sexual photographs until she felt she had “no choice.” They met at a secluded reservoir, where she realised he was far older than expected.
Judge Scott told him: “She felt she had to go along with what you wanted.
She described in her interview feeling frozen, like she had to go along with it, worried how you would react if she didn’t.” Jackson put a towel on the ground and had sex with the girl before leaving, later messaging her with the word “thanks.” While awaiting trial, he targeted a second girl on TikTok.
Believing he was 17, she sent him intimate images.
Jackson also sent her indecent pictures of children.
When they met by a riverside, he subjected her to a “sustained sexual assault” before threatening to share her images with her parents.
Judge Scott said: “Your offending has, I am in absolutely no doubt, caused severe psychological harm to both victims.
You committed offences against two young girls who should have been and should still be enjoying their teenage years.
This was all about you and your satisfaction.
They were innocent young women groomed by a man three times their age.” Jackson, who was under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and has previous convictions, admitted multiple charges including: engaging in sexual communication with a child meeting a child following sexual grooming sexual activity with a child causing a child to engage in sexual activity sexual assault threatening to share intimate photographs causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity causing a child to watch a sexual act distributing indecent images breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
He was sentenced to 14 and a half years in prison with a further three and a half years on extended licence.
Judge Scott added that he had shown no remorse for his crimes.
