Mohammed Fiaz, a 49-year-old man from Huddersfield, has been sentenced to seven years in prison after being convicted of raping a woman in the town.
The attack occurred at a property in Huddersfield in October 2019 and was uncovered through an investigation by the Kirklees District Safeguarding Team.
Fiaz was arrested and charged as a result of this inquiry.
On December 2, he was handed the prison sentence in addition to a lifelong order to register as a sex offender.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police commented: "A man has been sent to prison for seven years for the sexual assault of a woman in Huddersfield.
Mohammed Fiaz, 49, from Huddersfield, was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on Thursday, December 2, after his conviction for the offence that happened at an address in the town in October 2019."
