WOMAN GRABBED HER PARTNER BY THE THROAT AND SLAPPED AND PUNCHED HIM

A Prestonpans woman assaulted her partner at an address in the town.

Michelle Foy seized the man by the throat and repeatedly slapped and punched him on the head and body during the incident at a flat on the town’s Middleshot Square.

The police were alerted to the disturbance, and 43-year-old Foy was arrested and charged with the assault, which took place on December 7, 2023.

She appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Monday and pleaded guilty to an assault charge prosecuted under section 1 of the Abusive Behaviour and Sexual Harm Act (Scotland) Act 2016.

Sentence on Foy was deferred to next month for a criminal justice social work report to be prepared.
