PRESTONPANS SEX OFFENDER AWAITING SENTENCING NEXT MONTH
A LONGNIDDRY man who sexually assaulted a woman in a Prestonpans street is due to be sentenced next month.Andrzej Zajaczkowski, 64, was scheduled to be sentenced at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Wednesday after previously admitting the offence.
However, the case was deferred because social work reports were still not available.
This was the second delay after Zajaczkowski failed to appear in court in December.
The sheriff has now scheduled the sentencing for February 9.
In November, Zajaczkowski pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting the victim by touching and squeezing her breast over her clothing during an incident on Hawthorn Road in Prestonpans on April 21 of last year.
He also had a plea of not guilty accepted for assaulting PC David Porteous by repeatedly kicking his leg on the same date.
Sheriff McCarron previously placed Zajaczkowski, a Polish national from Lorne Way, on the sex offenders’ register for an indefinite term.
