MICHAEL STOKES FROM BARRY SENTENCED AFTER BRUTAL ATTACKS AND ANIMAL CRUELTY IN NEWPORT
Michael Stokes, a resident of Laleston Close in Barry, was convicted in 2022 for a series of violent and disturbing acts that took place during a domestic incident in Newport.The court heard that Stokes, born around 1976, engaged in a brutal assault on his pet dog, which involved kicking the animal multiple times during a heated domestic dispute.
According to court records, Stokes posed a significant threat to women, a concern that was underscored by his aggressive behavior during the incident.
The prosecution revealed that his partner, who had recently asked him to leave their shared residence in Newport, was subjected to a terrifying ordeal on October 19, 2021, when Stokes was heavily intoxicated.
During the court proceedings, Prosecutor Byron Broadstock detailed the events, stating that the defendant’s partner had become increasingly fearful of him.
