BARRY PAEDOPHILE CAUGHT WITH 199 CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
A PAEDOPHILE has been caught with nearly 200 child sex abuse images.Geoffrey Batchelor, 51, of George Street, Barry was jailed for 26 weeks with the sentence suspended for two years after he appeared at Cardiff Magistrates' Court.
The defendant pleaded guilty to making 198 category C indecent images of a child and making one prohibited image of a child.
His offending occurred in Sully between July 4, 2018, and October 24, 2024.
Batchelor must carry out 200 hours of unpaid work and complete a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement.
He must register as a sex offender for the next seven years and he will be the subject of a sexual harm prevention order for the same period.
The defendant has to pay a £154 surcharge and £85 costs.
