SALFORD MAN HANDED COMMUNITY ORDER FOR EXPOSING HIMSELF OUTSIDE WOMAN'S WINDOW AFTER GROOMING
A man named Ashu Chander, aged 27, committed a series of disturbing acts described in court as ‘vile, disgusting and deeply disrespectful’.The incident involved him standing outside a young woman's ground-floor window while she was changing, performing a sex act and then wiping his DNA on the window.
The court was informed that Chander had previously been under police investigation for attempting to meet a child following sexual communications, although it was revealed that the ‘child’ was actually an adult posing as a minor in a sting operation.
Ashu Chander's behavior was triggered after he engaged in online grooming, messaging a decoy posing as a minor, and attempting to meet her in person, which led to a police sting and his subsequent arrest.
During the arrest, officers seized his phone, discovering two category B indecent images of children, including one depicting a young child being sexually abused.
When questioned, Chander denied the offense of exposure, claiming he did not know how his DNA got onto the window.
The court sentenced him to a two-year community order and ordered him to complete 35 days of rehabilitation activities.
Previously, he admitted attempting to meet a child following grooming, making indecent images of a child, and exposure.
The victim in the case described how his actions invaded her privacy and caused her significant distress, leading to her moving away from the area.
The judge condemned his conduct, emphasizing that such behavior was unacceptable.
