CALLINGTON MAN MICHAEL JOHNS ADMITS TO CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND EXTREME IMAGES AT TRURO CROWN COURT
In a serious legal development, Michael Johns, a resident of Callington, appeared before Truro Crown Court to face multiple charges related to the possession and distribution of indecent images of children, as well as extreme pornographic material.The proceedings took place in July 2013, with Johns appearing from custody to answer the allegations against him.
During the court session, the 52-year-old man from St Germans Road, Callington, confirmed his identity and entered guilty pleas to all 25 charges brought against him.
These charges included 15 counts of creating indecent images of children, some of which depicted victims under the age of 13.
Additionally, Johns admitted to three counts of possessing prohibited images of children, which are classified as extreme or illegal under current laws.
He also pleaded guilty to four counts of distributing indecent images of minors, highlighting a disturbing pattern of activity involving the dissemination of such material.
The charges further detailed that Johns possessed extreme pornographic images, specifically those showing individuals performing sexual acts or engaging in intercourse with animals.
The total number of images involved in these offenses exceeded 10,000, with the incidents spanning from July 2009 to October 2012.

Judge John Neligan addressed the court, acknowledging Johns' guilty pleas at the earliest opportunity, which could influence sentencing considerations.

As a result of the proceedings, Michael Johns was remanded in custody and is scheduled to be sentenced in October.
