PETER CUMMINS FROM CALLINGTON AND PLYMOUTH JAILED FOR HORRIFIC BABY RAPE VIDEO
In September 2020, a disturbing case emerged involving Peter Cummins, a man with connections to both Callington and Plymouth, who was found to possess an extensive collection of illegal and highly disturbing images and videos depicting child abuse. The case was brought before Truro Crown Court, where Cummins, aged 45, faced serious charges related to his possession of indecent images of children and extreme pornography.According to the prosecution, police officers executed a search warrant at Cummins’ residence in Callington in October 2018. During the raid, authorities confiscated a computer, a mobile phone, and several USB sticks. The subsequent investigation revealed that Cummins had been engaging in the possession of highly illegal material, which he admitted to owning. The devices contained a horrifying array of content, including images and videos of children being touched, forced into sexual acts, and subjected to abuse.
Specifically, the material included 285 images classified as Category A, with 164 of these being videos. There were also 169 Category B images, with 38 of these being movies, and 323 Category C images, 15 of which were movies. In addition to this, Cummins possessed a staggering 1,609 extreme pornographic images involving animals, highlighting the depravity of his interests.
The court was informed that the children depicted in the illegal content ranged in age from just a few months old up to 12 years, with the majority between four and eight years old. Among the most disturbing evidence was a 20-minute video showing the sexual penetration and torture of a baby, a truly heinous crime that underscores the severity of Cummins’ offending.
It was also revealed that Cummins had a prior caution in 2016 for possessing a small number of indecent images of children, indicating a pattern of offending behavior. Despite this, he continued to feed into the industry of child exploitation, a point emphasized by the court.
During sentencing, Judge Carr highlighted the large volume of illegal material and criticized Cummins for his repeated minimization of responsibility. The judge noted that individuals like Cummins contribute to the ongoing harm inflicted upon victims and the perpetuation of such heinous crimes.
Ultimately, Peter Cummins was sentenced to two years in prison, a punishment reflecting the gravity of his offenses and the serious nature of the crimes committed against vulnerable children.
