A man who beat and raped a woman in a "vicious and violent" attack at his home has been jailed for eight years.Matthew Ludlow, 31, of Carlton Road in Nottingham, pulled his victim by the hair and punched her repeatedly before raping her in December 2012.
He denied the attack but was found guilty of rape at Nottingham Crown Court.
Det Con Joanne Eaton stated the victim could now "move forward from this terrible ordeal." Ludlow had grabbed the woman by the throat and threatened to kill her during the attack.
She managed to escape and run into the street, where a passing woman helped her.
Ludlow was ordered to be placed on the sex offenders register for life.
