FRASERBURGH MAN MARTIN THIRD SENTENCED FOR NEARLY 150,000 CHILD INDECENT IMAGES
In April 2021, a disturbing case emerged involving a man from Fraserburgh who was found to possess an alarming number of indecent images of children.The individual, identified as Martin Third, was ultimately sentenced to prison after authorities uncovered a vast collection of illicit material stored on his devices.
Law enforcement officials initiated an investigation after tracing the IP address associated with a device that was hosting and sharing indecent images of minors online.
This digital trail led them directly to Third’s residence in Fraserburgh, prompting a swift response from the police.
On the morning of July 9 last year, at approximately 7:35 am, officers executed a search warrant at Third’s home.
The operation was conducted with precision, and during the search, the 49-year-old man was present and cooperative.
He openly admitted to being aware of the existence of the indecent images on his devices and proceeded to show the officers two computer towers located in his bedroom.
The investigation revealed that Third’s devices contained nearly 150,000 indecent images of children, including a significant number of videos, amounting to more than a day’s worth of footage.
The sheer volume of material found was considered highly disturbing and indicative of serious criminal activity.
Following the discovery, Third was taken into custody and subsequently faced legal proceedings.
