A Fraserburgh man who threatened to kill his partner by cutting off her head and setting her on fire has avoided a prison sentence.Damon Leonard, 32, appeared in Aberdeen Sheriff Court, where he admitted bombarding the woman with terrifying and threatening messages after she tried to break off their relationship.
It was stated that Leonard changed his Facebook profile picture to serial killer Ted Bundy and sent several chilling messages, stating that he would behead her, cut off her breasts, and photograph her dead body.
He also threatened to rape her, set her on fire, find a teenage girl, rape her, and shove broken glass into her private parts.
The woman felt 'sick and extremely scared' due to these messages.
Following a fight where Leonard threw a glass air freshener at her after catching her with drugs, police found her cowering with her children.
Leonard pleaded guilty to engaging in a course of conduct that was abusive.
The court described his actions as 'sickening and terrifying' and sentenced him to a community payback order with supervision, 225 hours of unpaid work, and a restriction of liberty order for 225 days, along with a five-year stay-away order from his former partner.
