NOTTINGHAM MAN JAILED FOR 17 YEARS FOR CHILD RAPE AND OTHER OFFENCES
Martin Bollington has received a 17-year prison sentence after admitting to various child sexual offences committed in Nottingham from May 2019 to October 2023.The 38-year-old, who is currently detained at HMP Nottingham, pleaded guilty to charges including the rape and attempted rape of a boy under 13, along with two counts of sexual assault.
He also confessed to producing five indecent images of a child, inciting minors to engage in sexual acts, encouraging a child to observe sexual activities, voyeurism, and distributing an indecent photograph of a child.
His sentencing took place at Nottingham Crown Court on February 2, 2024, resulting in a 17-year term of imprisonment.
The court also ordered Bollington to register as a sex offender indefinitely and imposed a sexual harm prevention order to restrict his conduct following his release.
Detective Constable Ed Priestley from Nottinghamshire Police remarked: “Bollington is a predator who poses a serious threat to children, and I am glad he has been brought to justice.
The extent and severity of his crimes were alarming, and his admissions were supported by substantial evidence.
Although this sentence cannot erase the trauma experienced by his victims, I hope it offers them some reassurance and opens the path for them to rebuild their lives, knowing he can no longer harm others.
I also want victims to know that coming forward is important, and we will listen and support them.
Nottinghamshire Police takes all cases of sexual violence seriously and will continue working tirelessly to hold offenders accountable and provide victims with the necessary help.”
