In a recent case, Mark Minott was sentenced for a brutal assault that led to the death of Beverley Robinson, a 42-year-old woman involved in a relationship with him.
The attack involved a prolonged and vicious stabbing in front of two children, leaving Beverley with fatal injuries.
Minott was convicted on 7 September of both murder and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The presiding judge described the incident as 'a persistent and ferocious attack,' and he was sentenced to a minimum of 18 years imprisonment.
Authorities described the violence as particularly severe, noting Minott’s use of a knife against Beverley and her daughter, Nateesha Hudson, who was also badly injured.
Beverley’s family paid tribute to her, calling her 'bubbly and friendly,' and expressed their sadness over her loss.
They also welcomed the court's ruling, saying, 'Although it will never bring our beautiful mother back, it offers us some comfort to mourn without the distress of ongoing court proceedings.'
