MARK CUTTS SENTENCED TO 19 YEARS FOR ABUSE IN NOTTINGHAM AND SPALDING
In a case that has shocked the local communities of Nottingham and Spalding, Mark Cutts, aged 46, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being convicted of heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse of young girls.The sentencing took place at Nottingham Crown Court, where Judge Andrew Hamilton described the case as one of the most severe instances of abuse he had encountered in his judicial career.
According to court proceedings, Cutts had systematically groomed four young victims over a period of time.
The victims included a girl aged 14 and three others who were all under the age of ten.
The court heard detailed accounts of how Cutts manipulated and exploited these children, causing profound harm and trauma.
Throughout the trial, Cutts maintained his innocence, denying all charges brought against him.
However, the evidence presented was overwhelming, leading to his conviction on 16 counts.
These charges encompassed attempted serious sexual offences, indecency with a child, indecent assaults, and multiple counts of rape.
The jury's findings confirmed his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
Judge Hamilton did not hold back in his remarks, stating, “You have shown no sign of remorse for your evil ways you had with these children over a long period of time.
I take the view you represent a risk to girls, particularly prepubescent girls.” As part of his sentence, Cutts will serve two-thirds of the 19-year term in prison, with the remaining time to be served on license.
Additionally, the court imposed an extended license period of eight years, which will commence once the initial sentence concludes.
The judge also ordered that Cutts be registered on the sex offenders’ register for life, emphasizing the ongoing risk he poses to the community.
Following the sentencing, the judge expressed gratitude to the jury for their service and acknowledged the difficulty of the case, highlighting the serious nature of the crimes committed in Nottingham and Spalding.
