NOTTINGHAM MAN JAILED FOR COLD-BLOODED MURDER OF WIFE AFTER ABUSE
Marian Caliman, aged 32, was found guilty of killing his wife, Faye Caliman, who was 30 years old.Surveillance footage captured him slapping and verbally abusing her, with him pronouncing, "I'm going to kill you." Shortly afterwards, he stabbed her 12 times, resulting in her death at the scene in Millbank Place, Bestwood Village, Nottingham.
The court was informed that Faye was a mother to three daughters, all over the age of two, who now face life without their mother.
Police reports indicated that the victim endured a progressive pattern of abuse from Caliman, which ultimately led to her brutal and deliberate murder.
Caliman admitted to the killing and received a minimum sentence of 19 years imprisonment.
Judge John Burgess explained that the attack was committed in a fit of "cold anger" following an argument, highlighting his unemotional conduct during the incident.
Nottinghamshire Police and other authorities stressed the importance of addressing domestic abuse, encouraging victims to seek help, and stated that, although justice has been served, ongoing awareness is essential to prevent similar tragedies.
Caliman made no comment as he was sentenced.
