DARWEN MAN JAILED FOR STALKING AND THREATENING EX-PARTNER
A woman was chased around a parked car by her former partner, Mallion, when he confronted her while she was on her way to collect her daughter from school.
During the incident, Mallion approached her and launched a tirade of abuse and threats, including telling her if there weren't so many people around he would kill her.
Court proceedings revealed that Mallion, 37, who gave an address in Kent but formerly lived in Darwen, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour and stalking the victim.
He was sentenced to 26 weeks in jail for the stalking offense and an additional 12 weeks for breaching a suspended prison sentence imposed for breaching a previous restraining order in favor of another victim.
A new restraining order was also issued, restricting contact with the latest victim for five years.
The police prosecutor, Waqas Yakub, stated that Mallion had approached his ex-partner as she walked toward her daughter's school.
She tried to cross the road to avoid him, but he followed and shouted abusive threats.
The stalking involved voice messages and calls, with Mallion stating he was watching her and that she should be afraid of meeting him again.
Mallion, who was unrepresented in court, claimed that the previous suspended sentence was for a breach of a restraining order and argued that he was only trying to show his daughter a birthday banner conveying his birthday wishes.
