NOTTINGHAM RAPIST LUKASZ FELIKS SENTENCED TO 12.5 YEARS
A violent rapist has been jailed after sexually assaulting a woman and then bludgeoning a man with an imitation handgun.Lukasz Feliks raped and strangled the woman on March 15, 2023, at an address in Nottingham before he confronted another man outside.
Feliks was holding an imitation handgun and ran at the man, striking him over the head multiple times.
The 40-year-old was arrested by armed police shortly afterward.
He admitted attacking the man and claimed the victim was lucky that he didn't "chop him up," Nottinghamshire Police said.
It was later found that the gun was an imitation weapon, and Feliks was remanded into custody.
While awaiting trial, Feliks sent the woman he raped a series of letters, urging her not to give evidence at his trial.
Feliks, formerly of Carlton Hill, denied charges of rape, sexual assault, and intentional strangulation, but he was found guilty by a jury at Nottingham Crown Court last week.
He admitted to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and was convicted of possessing an imitation firearm and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The 40-year-old was sentenced on Friday, September 1, to 12-and-a-half years in prison.
Nottinghamshire Police detective Constable Melissa Brown stated that Feliks committed an appalling act of sexual violence that left his victim in fear of her life and caused similar fear to another victim with the imitation weapon.
She described him as very dangerous and violent, expressing satisfaction that he would spend a significant time in jail.
The police praised the bravery of the woman and hoped the sentence would bring her some comfort in the future.
