LOGAN PEATTIE'S BRUTAL CRIMES IN GLENROTHES: SHOCKING DOMESTIC ABUSE SENTENCE

A man from Glenrothes who subjected his partner to a terrifying and violent seven-week period of abuse has been handed a significant prison sentence. Logan Peattie, whose address is listed as Docherty Gardens, was found guilty of a series of aggressive and dangerous acts directed at his girlfriend, which culminated in a serious incident involving a car and physical assault.

Peattie appeared before Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on a recent Tuesday to face charges related to his abusive behavior. The court heard that his misconduct spanned from December 2020 into January of the following year, during which he engaged in a pattern of intimidation, violence, and threats at a property located on Aitken Road in Glenrothes, as well as during multiple incidents on the roads surrounding the town. These included the A910, A912, and within a separate vehicle on the A912 Glenrothes-Abernethy Road, highlighting the extent and geographical spread of his abusive actions.

Court documents detailed the severity of Peattie’s conduct. Witnesses and evidence revealed that he frequently shouted and swore at his partner, and on one occasion, physically assaulted her while she was behind the wheel of a vehicle. He was reported to have snatched her mobile phone, reviewed her messages without permission, and issued threats of harm or even suicide, creating an environment of constant fear and intimidation. The court also heard that Peattie produced a Stanley blade during one of these episodes, threatening to kill her, which underscored the dangerous nature of his threats.

In another disturbing incident, Peattie forcibly locked his partner inside a car against her will, preventing her from leaving. During this episode, he drove erratically, seized her by the hair, and caused injuries, including pushing her earring into her head. The court was also told that he spat on her, choked her, and even drove his vehicle at her in an attempt to harm her further. At one point, he handed her scissors and urged her to self-harm, demonstrating a deeply troubling level of control and violence.

The persistent domestic abuse inflicted by Peattie left his partner injured and traumatized. The court’s judgment reflected the seriousness of his actions, with Sheriff Alastair Brown sentencing him to a prison term of one year and nine months. Additionally, Peattie was disqualified from driving for two and a half years as part of the sentence, emphasizing the dangerous and reckless nature of his behavior. This case serves as a stark reminder of the severity of domestic violence and the importance of holding offenders accountable for their actions.
