WOMAN ATTACKS GIRLFRIEND WITH BUCKFAST BOTTLE AFTER DRUGS AND ALCOHOL BINGE
A woman named Leeanne Hadden, also known as Chapman, was involved in a violent incident outside a residence in Fraserburgh. She attacked her then-girlfriend by smashing a Buckfast bottle over her head following a drugs and alcohol binge.
The assault was triggered by a dispute over money, and Hadden also kicked and punched her partner in the face and head.
Additionally, she forcefully took her girlfriend's handbag.
The police responded shortly after being called by witnesses.
Officers found Hadden in a nearby street still holding the handbag, and she put up a fight during her arrest, kicking an officer.
During an interview, Hadden admitted she could not recall the incident clearly.
The victim sustained small cuts on her lip and head.
Hadden, aged 37, subsequently faced court where she accepted responsibility for her actions.
Her defense argued that her behavior was influenced by her recent six or seven-day binge involving alcohol and drugs.
She has been drug-free for the past five months while in custody at HMP Grampian.
The court decided to release her on a community payback order with a two-year supervision and a six-month curfew.
