CONTROLLING MAN WRECKED PREGNANT EX'S WINDOWS AFTER DISCOVERING FATHER OF HER NEW BABY THERE
A man named Kyle Lee caused damage to his pregnant ex's home after discovering the father of her new baby was there. The court heard that after Lee and the mother of his three children separated, she became pregnant by another man who was at her Batley residence when Lee visited on May 2.
Prosecutor Vicky Trueman described Lee as "violent and controlling." Shortly after 10pm, with her male friend present, Lee arrived and was heard banging on the door, demanding to be let in.
He shouted: "Is that tramp there?" while threatening that she would regret what happened next if she did not comply.
In response, Lee, of Foldings Road in Cleckheaton, smashed her living room window and then damaged the kitchen window by walking around the house.
The victim recognized Lee's voice but did not see him at the time.
Lee was arrested and gave a 'no comment' interview.
The court was told Lee had a previous conviction for criminal damage from 2015.
Lee pleaded guilty to criminal damage.
Rachel Smith, defending, stated that the couple had an on-again, off-again relationship until their permanent breakup in February.
The victim explained that Lee discovered the new man at her house in April, which led to Lee smashing the windows.
Deputy District Judge Michael Hopkinson described the damage as "deliberate" and warned that if children were present, they could be very frightened.
Lee was sentenced to a restraining order banning him from contacting his ex or going to her home for three years.
He will also be monitored via an electronically enforced 30-day curfew from 7pm to 7am.
Additionally, he must pay £300 compensation, as well as £85 costs and a £85 victim surcharge.
