KIRKLEES MAN JAILED FOR BRICK ASSAULT AND GBH IN BATLEY
Ibrar Mehrban, aged 37, from Batley, was jailed for six years at Leeds Crown Court today (Friday 16 January) after being found guilty of offences of grievous bodily harm and section 47 assault.The court heard he had attacked a woman in the street at around 1.30am on July 1, 2025, then continued the assault inside a garage when he was overheard by a man who went to investigate.
Mehrban hit the man with a brick, knocking him to the floor and further attacking him, before retreating into the garage.
Both victims suffered head injuries, with the man suffering serious head injuries and the woman head and facial injuries.
police arrested Mehrban at the scene and he was remanded in custody for his trial.
His actions and subsequent sentencing aim to bring some closure to the victims.
