GLENROTHES MAN ADMITS TWO SEXUAL ASSAULTS - AVOIDS JAIL
A Glenrothes man who admitted carrying out two sexual assaults has avoided a custodial sentence after appearing at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.Kyle Lawrie pleaded guilty to two sexual assault charges as part of a plea agreement reached with prosecutors.
The case had originally involved multiple allegations, including offences under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009, before guilty pleas were entered earlier today.
Lawrie has now been handed 120 hours of unpaid community service alongside a supervision order.
He has also been placed on the Sex Offenders Register for just 12 months.
The guilty pleas mean victims were spared the ordeal of giving evidence during a full trial.
Many will now question whether the sentence imposed properly reflects the seriousness of the offences admitted before the court.
