KIM FROST FROM NORTHAMPTON SENTENCED FOR CRUELTY TO SIX-MONTH-OLD BABY
In a case that has shocked the Northampton community, a woman from Northampton was brought before Northampton Crown Court and sentenced for inflicting severe harm on a six-month-old infant.Kim Frost, aged 37 and residing at Nether Jackson Court in Northampton, pleaded guilty to charges of Category A child cruelty and neglect, which are considered among the most serious offenses of their kind.
The court heard that Frost was responsible for injuries to the young child that were so grave they were likened by medical professionals to the trauma sustained in a serious road traffic collision or a fall from a first-floor window.
The incident occurred in February 2018, and the injuries inflicted were described as life-threatening at the time.
During the proceedings, it was revealed that Frost was involved in a toxic and tumultuous relationship with a man at the time of the abuse.
Evidence presented in court included a series of distressing texts and videos sent by Frost to her partner, which indicated that she was intentionally harming the child to attract his attention.
This manipulation ultimately led the man to contact the police on February 4, 2018.
The injuries sustained by the infant were particularly severe, resulting in multiple skull fractures and a haematoma, along with swelling of the brain.
Despite the gravity of the injuries, the child has since made a full recovery, a fact that was acknowledged during the sentencing.
Kim Frost was sentenced to four years in custody; however, she is expected to serve only two years before being eligible for release on licence.
The case has left a lasting impact on the community and highlights the devastating consequences of child abuse and neglect.
