OFFENDER WHO REPEATEDLY BREACHED COURT ORDER AND INSULTED EX GIRLFREIND GETS COMMUNITY ORDER

A man who told his ex: “Thanks for ringing police love” said she helped him repeatedly flout his court order not to contact her.

Kieron Quinn sent her the Facebook message together with an image of his cut finger.

He was banned from communicating with the victim but verbally abused her on several occasions, barging into her home and sticking up his middle finger at her as he drove away.

The 25-year-old's solicitor said that she was complicit in ignoring the non-molestation order as she invited him round to her house and on day trips.

Kirklees Magistrates' Court was told that the couple recently separated after a 10 month relationship.

The victim was pregnant throughout most of their relationship, but Quinn was not the child's father.

Then in April this year a non-molestation order was imposed at Huddersfield Family Court.

It runs for a year and bans Quinn from using or threatening violence towards her, attending within 100 metres of her Batley home or communicating with her in any way.

But he repeatedly breached the order between April and June.

The victim admitted that he stayed over at her Hampson Street house several times with her permission but they fell out and she decided she didn't want any further contact with him.

“The same day he returned and she recorded him on her phone.” On another date he sent her a Facebook message stating: “Thanks for ringing police love” together with a photo of his cut finger.

Prosecutor Vicky Trueman said: “He attended at her house unannounced and asked for his things back.

“When she refused he pushed past and made threats towards her.

“He left and continued banging on the door until she called police.” The Huddersfield court was told about another incident when the victim heard Quinn revving and beeping his car horn outside.

Ms Trueman said: “She looked and saw him staring at her and mouthing something.” On another occasion Quinn was again seen parked outside beeping his horn.

Ms Trueman said: “He drove away then stuck his middle finger up at her.” Mr Whiteley said: “He's been the victim of his own efforts in trying to assist the complainant.” District Judge Michael Fanning sentenced Quinn to a community order with 20 rehabilitation activity days.

He will have to pay £85 court costs and £85 victim surcharge.
