CROWN PROSECUTION SERVICE ANNOUNCES THREE PEOPLE CHARGED WITH HUMAN TRAFFICKING OFFENCES
The Crown Prosecution Service announced today that Khondaker Fuad Hasan, Liu Xu Hopkins, and Benjamin Hopkins are facing multiple criminal allegations.They are charged with conspiracy to carry out human trafficking, violating Section 2 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and Section 1 of the Criminal Law Act 1977.
Furthermore, they are accused of conspiring to control prostitution for financial profit, under Section 53 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and Section 1 of the Criminal Law Act 1977.
Additional charges involve conspiracy to transfer criminal property, in breach of Section 327(1)(d) of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and Section 1 of the Criminal Law Act 1977.
The charges follow an investigation by the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit, which probed alleged cases of organized human trafficking and money laundering across seven locations in England.
These sites are located in Chippenham (two venues), Gloucester, Bury St Edmunds, Reading, Cheltenham, and Ely.
