MERTHYR TYDFIL MAN JAILED FOR DANGEROUS DRIVING AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
A man identified as Kerry Price, aged 43, from Merthyr Tydfil, has been involved in a violent incident where he turned up at his then partner's workplace and deliberately pushed her car down a grass bank following a minor disagreement.The incident escalated as he reversed his car into hers at significant speed, causing it to overturn into a bollard.
During this upheaval, Price drove towards his partner and her colleagues in the parking lot, narrowly avoiding a collision with a member of the public.
He also assaulted an innocent bystander by sharply punching him in the face.
Subsequently, he sent threatening messages to his partner and her father, causing them considerable fear—his ex-partner stated: "My world has fallen apart watching him fall into substance abuse.
Letting go has been one of the hardest things I have ever done." Court proceedings revealed that Price had a history of domestic violence, including previous convictions for violence against a former partner, GBH, and smashing a glass in her face.
He was diagnosed with drug addiction, which his ex-partner believed was a contributing factor to his behavior.
During sentencing at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court, Judge Vanessa Francis sentenced him to 19 and a half months in prison and disqualified him from driving for two years, nine months, and three weeks.
Price pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, harassment, and common assault.
The judge remarked, "You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself." It was also noted that Price has 29 previous convictions, primarily recorded between 1999 and 2002, with an especially significant violent and domestic violence history.
