A man who inflicted control and harm on his partner, continuing his abusive behavior even after their breakup, has been sentenced to prison.Keir Jordan Gray’s misconduct came to light following an incident in September 2019, in which he tracked his victim’s vehicle before, along with another man, vandalized it, pulled her out by her hair, and assaulted her companion.
Northamptonshire Police responded to the scene, and the victim disclosed that Gray had been consistently abusive and violent during their four-year relationship, and persisted in harassing and stalking her post-separation.
Gray, residing on Brookland Road in Northampton, faced charges of controlling and coercive behavior spanning from December 2015 to April 2019.
He was found guilty after a trial in May.
Additionally, he was convicted of harassment that instilled fear of violence and damage to her vehicle.
On July 8 at Northampton Crown Court, Judge David Herbert QC sentenced the 33-year-old to 18 months for controlling and coercive conduct, nine months for harassment (to run consecutively), and two months concurrently for criminal damage, totaling two years and three months in prison.
He was also issued a restraining order forbidding any contact with the victim.

He emphasised that Gray’s actions had severely impacted her both physically and psychologically, leaving her in constant fear for years.
The officer reinforced that domestic abuse is a serious issue and urged victims to seek help, promising that police are committed to fighting such crimes and bringing offenders to justice.
