LEICESTER MAN JAILED FOR LIFE AFTER MURDERING WIFE
A man named Kashish Aggarwal was found guilty of murdering his wife, Geetika Goyal.During the proceedings at Leicester Crown Court, it was revealed that Aggarwal had stabbed Geetika 19 times in her neck and upper chest on the evening of March 3rd at their residence on Wintersdale Road.
Following the assault, he concealed her body by wrapping it in plastic sheeting, placed it into the trunk of his vehicle, and drove to nearby Uppingham Close.
There, he cut her free from the coverings and left her lying on the sidewalk around 8:15 pm.
The court heard that Aggarwal initially lied to her relatives, claiming she had gone missing, but eventually confessed to the murder.
He was handed a life sentence with a minimum term of 20 years and six months.
The judge called the killing a "wicked murder" and noted that Aggarwal watched as his wife’s life was taken.
After the murder, Aggarwal contacted her family to ask if they knew her whereabouts, and he purchased a plane ticket to India scheduled for March 5th.
Prosecutors stated that they could not establish a clear motive behind the killing.
Geetika’s family described her as "innocent, kind, and gentle," expressing their shock and sorrow over her death and their regret for not being able to save her.
Aggarwal’s actions and his plans to leave the country suggested an attempt to evade justice, but he was detained seven hours after her body was found.
