OFFENDER ADMITS TO STRANGLING PREGNANT PARTNER AND CALLS POLICE TO CONFESS
A man named Jordan Williams, aged 25, admitted to police that he had throttled his pregnant partner and called the police to confess: "I've just strangled my bird." The victim, who was eight weeks pregnant at the time, showed reddening to her neck after Williams squeezed it.Williams also stated, "I had to call police because I strangled her.
I want to get out of the situation," and he admitted grabbing her by the throat and squeezing once.
The incident occurred at the victim's home in Batley on January 20.
The police arrived after Williams contacted them himself, and officers observed the reddening to her neck.
The victim refused to give photographs of her injuries, but the officers witnessed her injuries.
Williams admitted to police, "I had to call police because I strangled her," and stated, "She was eight weeks pregnant at the time so there is a particular vulnerability there." Williams pleaded guilty to assault by beating, and the court was told he needed help for mental health and anger management issues.
Magistrates decided they needed a probation report before sentencing, and in the meantime, Williams has bail conditions not to contact the victim or visit her home.
