EX-POLICE OFFICER JAILED FOR KILLING HIS PREGNANT PARTNER
Jonathan Sutton, a man who formerly worked as a police officer, has been convicted of the murder of Emma Siswick, his pregnant partner.
The incident happened in Huddersfield on May 18 last year, when Sutton stabbed Emma 81 times, causing her death through wounds inflicted by knife and broken glass.
Sutton, aged 40, initially admitted to the killing and was sentenced to 28 years in prison at Leeds Crown Court in October.
His sentence was later reduced by three years following an appeal, resulting in a minimum term of 25 years, minus 150 days already served behind bars.
Described as 'paranoid and controlling,' Sutton was also deemed a 'significant risk to the public.' In addition to the murder charge, he received another sentence for injuring two boys at the same property, both of whom required hospital care for their serious stab wounds.
