SHILDON PERVERT GUILTY OF SEXUALLY COMMUNICATING WITH CHILD
A pervert who was found guilty of sexually communicating with a child will have to wait to hear what his sentence will be.Jonathan Moore was convicted following a trial at Teesside Crown Court in July.
The 34-year-old was released on conditional bail to allow time for a pre-sentence report to be compiled to help determine his sentence.
Paul Abrahams, representing Moore, said his client believed that the Probation Service officer would attend his home address but was mistaken about the location of the appointment.
Judge Timothy Stead agreed to adjourn the hearing to give him a second-chance to attend an appointment.
He said: “I will order a pre-sentence report for this case and all options will remain open to me.
Moore, of Sunnyside Avenue, Shildon, will return to court on November 28 for sentence.
—————————————————————————————————— SENTENCING UPDATE 28-11-2025 Shildon PERVERT who asked an underage girl to send an explicit picture of herself has walked free from court.
Jonathan Moore was also accused of sending a series of sexual messages to the same person but she had turned 16 by that point.
Teesside Crown Court heard how the 35-year-old’s life had been investigated by social services following his convictions and they raised no concerns about his parenting ability.
Brian Russell, prosecuting, said: “The incidents spanned the child’s 16th birthday so he stands to be sentenced for a text message where he asked her to ‘get her **** out’ when she was 15.
The more serious matters in which he sent images and invited whether she wished to see a picture of his penis were shortly after her 16th birthday.
“Clearly, he can’t be sentenced for that but it does show some context to his behaviour.” Moore, of Sunnyside Avenue, Shildon, was convicted of sexual communication with a child following a trial at the same court.
Judge Timothy Stead sentenced Moore to a two-year community order with 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days and 100 hours of unpaid work attached.
He said: “To be fair to you, you are 35 and this is the only matter that has brought you before the court and I would like to think that you are never going to come again.
“I’m not going to deliver a lecture on what the jury found you did but you continue to deny it.” Moore was also issued with a five-year restraining order and told to pay £1,200 towards court costs.
