A sex offender from Shildon, who attempted to initiate sexual contact with a minor, is currently awaiting sentencing.
David Horne, aged 57, admitted to several charges, including violating his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and trying to communicate sexually with a child.
His attempts to engage in sexual conversations with a minor occurred between February 15 and March 4, and again from March 4 to 9 this year.
Horne also confessed to trying to arrange sexual activity with a child during these times, as well as breaching his SHPO and registration requirements as a sex offender.
The case was postponed at Durham Crown Court until next month, and Horne remains in custody.
Judge Aisha Wadoodi commented, “We are unable to deal with your case today so it will be adjourned in August 19.”
