JOHN HUTCHISON FROM GLENROTHES ATTACKS EX-PARTNER'S NEW BOYFRIEND IN CARDENDEN AND THORNTON
A disturbing incident unfolded in Fife involving John Hutchison, a man originally from Glenrothes, who caused significant distress and violence during a confrontation with his ex-partner's new boyfriend. The incident took place in her residence, located in Bowhill, Cardenden, and has drawn attention due to the severity of the assault and the circumstances leading up to it.According to court reports, Hutchison, aged 35 and residing on Main Street in Thornton, entered a state of agitation after a series of events. The court heard that Hutchison and his former partner had ended their relationship in October 2022, yet he retained a key to her house, which he used to access her home on January 20 of this year. The woman, who was still living in the residence, had informed Hutchison the previous day, January 19, via telephone, that her new boyfriend would be staying over that night. Hutchison expressed his disapproval of this arrangement, especially if their children were present, indicating underlying tensions and unresolved issues.
On the morning of January 20, Hutchison took matters into his own hands. He entered the house through the front door, which he was still able to access despite their breakup. Once inside, he proceeded to the bedroom where the new boyfriend was staying. The situation escalated rapidly when Hutchison attempted to attack the man. The woman, witnessing the confrontation, tried to intervene and stop Hutchison, but he pushed her aside forcefully. Without hesitation, Hutchison then launched a violent assault on the man, repeatedly punching him in the head and kicking him in the body. The assault resulted in the man suffering a bloodied and swollen nose, which required medical attention and pain relief.
Hutchison's actions did not end there. Once he left the scene, the woman was left in a state of shock and horror at the violence she had just witnessed. The police were called to the scene shortly after Hutchison departed, and they responded promptly to the distress call. The injured man was taken to a medical facility for treatment, while the woman was unharmed but deeply affected by the incident.
During the court proceedings, Hutchison admitted to the assault and also to pushing his former partner during the incident at her home in Bowhill, Cardenden. His lawyer, Danielle Stringer, explained that Hutchison had been drinking heavily the night before and was becoming increasingly agitated as a result. The court, presided over by Sheriff Garry Sutherland, condemned Hutchison’s behavior as
