OXFORD POLICE OFFICER SACKED FOR SHARING INTIMATE VIDEOS
A police officer named John Birch, stationed in Cowley, Oxford, was discovered to have shared an explicit sex video of a woman with whom he was having an affair.He possessed at least two recordings of their relationship on his mobile device and admitted that it was unlikely he believed the woman had consented to her videos being shown to others.
Birch, who was acquaintances with fellow officer Daniel Gunston, engaged in a consensual sexual relationship with the woman in February 2024.
He denied that he showed at least one of the videos to his colleague, asserting instead that he simply explained the content, a claim that the disciplinary panel described as 'highly implausible.' Both officers were found guilty of gross misconduct and were dismissed following a hearing held last month.
