MAN WHO STALKED WOMAN AND LEFT HER FEARING FOR HER SAFETY PLEADS GUILTY

Steffon Wood, aged 37 and residing at Long Ford Close in Oxford, appeared before Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Friday (23/01).
During the hearing, he admitted to charges of stalking that involved instilling fear of violence in a woman in her 30s.
Wood was remanded into custody and is scheduled for sentencing on February 12.
The incidents occurred between 15 and 19 January, during which Wood made over 200 phone calls to the victim, sent her threatening messages, and made multiple visits to her residence.
These actions violated his existing bail conditions and a Domestic Violence Protective Order (DVPO).
Following public appeals for information, Wood was located, apprehended, and charged with the offences.
The case was strengthened through collaborative efforts between the Swindon Volume Crime Team and Swindon Response.
Their dedicated work was instrumental in gathering evidence, locating, and detaining Wood, leading to the successful prosecution of the case.
