JASON MURTY FROM LEICESTER SENTENCED AFTER HORRIFIC ATTACK IN BIRMINGHAM'S ERDINGTON NEIGHBORHOOD
A man identified as Jason Murty, aged 41 and residing on Irwell Close in Leicester, has been sentenced to a significant prison term following a brutal and disturbing assault that took place in Birmingham.The incident, which unfolded over an 11-hour period, occurred in the Erdington area on February 20 and involved a series of violent and sexual assaults against a woman.
According to reports, Murty's attack was characterized by extreme violence and cruelty.
During the ordeal, he subjected the victim to physical abuse, including kicking, punching, and spitting at her.
The assault was not only physically violent but also sexually invasive, as Murty committed a sexual assault that left the victim traumatized.
In a further display of menace, he threatened her with a drill bit, heightening the terror she experienced.
At one point, Murty wrapped his hands around her neck in an attempt to choke her, demonstrating a complete disregard for her safety and well-being.
It is believed that Murty’s alcohol consumption earlier that evening played a role in the escalation of his aggressive behavior.
The victim, in a moment of opportunity, managed to pass out Murty, which allowed her to seek help and escape the dangerous situation.
Following the attack, emergency services responded swiftly, and the woman was taken to a safe location where she received necessary support and care.
Murty was arrested shortly after the incident and brought into custody.
His trial took place at Birmingham Crown Court, where on August 21, he was found guilty of multiple serious charges, including rape, sexual assault, and causing actual bodily harm.
The presiding judge, Judge Buckingham, sentenced Murty to 12 years in prison.
