TEEN RAPIST JAILED FOR LIFE AFTER CHILD ASSAULT IN STOCKTON COMMUNITY CENTRE
A 21-year-old man named Jason Langstaff has been sentenced to indefinite imprisonment after being convicted of raping a young boy in a community centre in Teesside. The court heard that Langstaff lured the boy, who was under 10, into a toilet at the community centre, where he then pinned him down and committed the sexual assault.
The victim quickly reported the attack to a friend, which allowed police to gather crucial evidence and arrest Langstaff.
Despite initially denying the assault, Langstaff later pleaded guilty to the charge, which marked his second child sex offence.
He previously had a conviction for sexual activity in the presence of a toddler in 2005 and was under a supervision order.
A psychiatrist indicated his actions appeared to be driven by paedophilic urges.
The court sentenced Langstaff to an Imprisonment for Public Protection (IPP), a near-lifetime sentence, requiring him to serve over five years before possible release.
He will remain on the sex offenders' register for life.
Police expressed satisfaction with the severity of the sentence, emphasizing Langstaff’s status as a dangerous offender.
The incident was further condemned by Middlesbrough FC, which confirmed that Langstaff's employment as a steward was terminated prior to the offence.
The court’s decision underscores the community’s efforts to protect children from sexual predators.
