HUDDERSFIELD MAN JAILED FOR SADISTIC RAPE AND THREATS
Sadistic rapist Jamie McGregor has been incarcerated following an attack in Huddersfield. The drug dealer has received a 14-year prison sentence after raping a woman who was his client and a drug addict, in her own home.
He also threatened her by saying he would slit her throat if she disclosed the incident.
Leeds Crown Court learned that McGregor was on bail for assaulting a police officer and possessing a bladed weapon when he entered the woman's flat in Huddersfield in August last year, tricking his way inside.
The victim had previously told McGregor that her partner would not be there, which he used to his advantage.
He caused considerable violence during the 30-minute ordeal, which involved a sadistic element, as he made comments like 'pain is good.' McGregor, aged 25 from North Carr Croft, Dalton, was found guilty by a jury of two charges of rape and one attempt to rape.
In addition to his sentence, he received a one-year term consecutive for possessing a bladed article outside a club and for assaulting a police officer.
He also admitted to possessing four wraps of cocaine.
The court highlighted the lasting impact on the victim, who now suffers from depression and flashbacks, and has taken precautions such as installing extra security in her new home, which makes her feel imprisoned.
The court described the attack as particularly unpleasant and degrading, emphasizing the betrayal of her trust and the sadistic nature of the assault, where he mentioned that pain is good.
The judge noted that McGregor was aware of the woman's vulnerability and used her trust as an entry point for the attack, which lasted around half an hour and involved significant violence and degradation.
The judge also considered the threat made by McGregor at the time of custody to slit her throat as credible, especially given his previous conviction for possessing a bladed article.
Overall, this case highlights the brutality of the attack and its profound impact on the victim.
