CUMNOCK CARE MANAGER CAUGHT IN SEXUAL MESSAGING SCANDAL AND WARNED
A social care manager named James Arnold, employed last year as an area manager by Greenleaf House Co in Cumnock, has been warned for abusing his position of power after sending sexual messages to junior colleagues. According to a report from the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), Arnold engaged in inappropriate and sexual communications with four colleagues over a span of three years. The report details that Arnold sent a TikTok video to a former coworker with the message "sometimes I w**k off thinking about you". He also made comments like telling a colleague she looked "good" before asking if she was going to the toilet to take explicit pictures. Additionally, Arnold told a different junior colleague that she was "looking good" and inappropriately asked her to take explicit pictures, while messaging another colleague about a breakup, claiming he could "turn a gay man straight". He referred to a colleague as "eye candy" and told another to "fix her face". On multiple occasions, Arnold asked colleagues to engage in sexual activities and even suggested she be a stripper. When one colleague ignored his Snapchat message, he threatened to bring it up during supervision. The SSSC panel concluded that Arnold's conduct displayed a failure to communicate respectfully and that he had taken advantage of his authority, which raised concerns about his suitability to work in social services and risked emotional harm to colleagues. Although Arnold expressed some remorse and apologized, the panel noted that he continued inappropriate behavior with others. His registration was officially warned for two years starting July 3, and Greenleaf House confirmed he is no longer employed with the company.
