MAN JAILED AFTER HAUL OF CHILD ABUSE IMAGES FOUND
A man convicted of possessing indecent images of children has been sentenced to prison following an investigation that uncovered hundreds of such images on his electronic devices.
Authorities were first alerted when an indecent photograph was downloaded from a property situated in the Alfreton Road district of Nottingham.
During police inquiries, one resident, Jake Wales, was questioned on 7 November 2024.
After initially denying involvement, he eventually confessed to downloading the material.
Wales, aged 28 and residing on Cheltenham Street in Nottingham, was detained and formally charged after law enforcement examined his phone and other technological gadgets.
The analysis revealed over 500 images classified as Category A, which depict the most severe form of child abuse, along with more than 350 Category B images and over 1,100 Category C images.
In court, Wales admitted to three counts related to creating indecent pictures of a child, possessing extreme pornography, and holding a forbidden child image.
As a result, on 29 January, he was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court to 14 months in prison.
Additionally, he was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, designed to limit his future online access and contact with minors upon his release.
